AWS introduces Amazon Location in preview

As part of their annual re:Invent conference, AWS introduced (in preview) this week Amazon Location a service to integrate maps, location awareness, and other location-based features to web and mobile applications. Finally the largest cloud provider will have to directly deal (and will be affected by) geolocation and geopolitical issues in disputed territories and partially recognized states. The fact that maps and map styles are provided by Esri and by HERE Technologies, and that users can also use existing map libraries such as Mapbox GL and Tangram will be irrelevant. Users will still blame AWS. Interesting move, interesting service and interesting challenge.

A few screenshots from the preview of their mapping service are below.
